The following question came from John McCloskey

How can I save weight in the tail of my HLG?

From : Don Stackhouse

One place you can save a very significant amount of weight in the tail is by using one of the steel pushrods as the antenna. We picked this up from one of our builders in Texas, who also happens to be an electrical engineer. He measures the length of the pushrod, then cuts that much off of his antenna. The tip of the remaining antenna is then soldered to the rod end just behind the servo. This eliminates a piece of insulated copper wire running the entire length of the tailboom. He and others in his club have used this system for quite a while now with no apparent problems. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I plan to on my next HLG.
