For the chrysalis 2M, there is no mention of a conventional
tail option as on the hand lauch version. What do you recommend for people
who do not have a computer radio (yet)?

OOPS! You're right, I just checked our website's "product info" section on
the Chrysalis 2-meter, and somehow we forgot to mention that. Thanks for
bringing it to our attention!
The Chrysalis 2-meter does, in fact, come with all parts and instructions
for BOTH the conventional tail and the V-tail. We even separated the two in
the instructions, with a separate row of windows for assembly of each
style, and little "?" flags at each point in the assembly where you have to
make a decision on which one you want to build. We also show the correct
stick movements and corresponding control surface movements for both in our
graphical explanation on how to set up the controls.
However, getting back to your question, if you want to do a V-tail on the
2-meter Chrysalis and don't have a computer radio, it's still not too
difficult. This model is big enough that there's plenty of room for a
variety of mechanical mixing options including the old standard of sliding
the rudder servo back and forth with the elevator servo. There's also
plenty of room for an electronic mixer. In either case, the aircraft won't
notice the extra weight. This is a much bigger model than the HLG
Chrysalis, and so you have a lot more freedom in both space and weight for
add-ons like this.
Sorry, if you're looking for an excuse to convince your "significant other"
that you need a new radio, I'm afraid this won't work. Maybe if you point
out to them that the 2-meter Chrysalis has performance competitive with
some high-dollar composite 2-meters, but the difference in the cost of the
model leaves enough money left over to buy that fancy computer radio? ;-)
