I'm currently building a Chrysalis.Several people have suggested shear
webing both sides of the spar all the way to the tip.
Is this necessary?
I did plan on hi-starting this 63yr old arm isn't into it.

It won't hurt, although the shear webs in the outer panels really wouldn't
accomplish much. The weight won't be a significant issue either way. We
recommend shear webbing out to rib F on both sides of the spar, although
going all the way to the poly break (the two "K" ribs) will help the
torsional stiffness. If you're concerned about flutter (and high-starting
in moderate winds might be a likely situation for that), double shear webs
of 1/64" plywood might be even better.
I have finished the stab sanding to 1/32 at trailing edge of ruddervators. How can
I prevent warping that extremely thin edge. I do plan on using water based poly.
The poly should go on in VERY thin coats and allowed to dry thoroughly
between coats. Paint both sides of the ruddervator at the same time for
each coat to avoid warping. If it warps anyway, a little work with a
covering iron and a flat surface can straighten it out.
