The following question came from Jim Knodel

With a small flutter the covering came lose on the bottom leading edge of one inside panel of my Chrysalis E. This only left me turn in one direction. There just wasn't enough covering overlap at the leading edge with a different color on the bottom. I have now ironed a 2" piece around the leading edge which I expect to solve the problem. How do you solve this problem?

This sounds to me like an adhesion problem with your covering. If it's been ironed on properly with an iron that's hot enough, then as little as 1/8" of overlap is sufficient. If you're having trouble with seams coming open, it's probably a case of either not enough temperature from your iron for that type of covering (note, Ultracoat and Oracover require a higher iron temperature for good adhesion than other brands), or trying to use two different brands of covering, with an adhesion problem between them ( or example, Ultracoat and Oracover can be applied over top of other brands, but most other brands do not adhere well when applied on top of Ultracoat or Oracover), and of course the classic:

Did you remember to peel the backing sheet off the covering before you applied it? Don't laugh, I've seen that happen before, even to experienced modelers.

Your 2" piece may solve the problem, but it still doesn't answer why you were getting such poor adhesion in the first place, and of course that means that the problem could still be there (in which case even your 2" piece might not solve the problem!

Re-read the instructions that came with your covering material, then make some test pieces on some scrap wood to try to figure out what's keeping your covering from sticking. Assuming you did take the backing off, your covering doesn't have any contaminants on the surface (oils, price sticker or tape residues, etc.) that would interfere with the bond, and you're not trying to mix different brands of covering, my guess is you have a temperature problem with your iron, probably too cold, although too hot can also cause trouble.
