The following question came from William Eckles

I flew my Chrysalis 2M nicely until a guy lit up his transmitter on my channel and it shot me down. All fixed up now...but the question is this. I set the CG at 4 1/4" behind the LE and the tow hook placed just ahead of that was very shallow climbing.

I moved the hook back 1/2" but that is behind the CG. Should I worry about stability? The launch before I got blasted was quite nice, but maybe I'm living on borrowed time!

    From : Joe Hahn

One nice thing about the Chrysalis 2 meter is that it's very non-sensitive about tow hook placement. Our recommendation is very conservative, basically because we make the assumption that beginners may well be doing their first hi-start launch with this airplane, and we want to give them every chance to be successful, first time out.

However---once you've flown the plane and gained experience, by all means, move the towhook back. This will give you MUCH higher launches, but it also does mean that you will have to be careful to not get too much of a nose-up attitude, or you'll get a "pop-off"--a low altitude "pop-off" will not be a pleasant experience. SO----go conservative with your towhook position changes until you get a nice, basically hands-off, near vertical climb out, and leave it at that position. That position will likely end up being at or even a little behind the CG, as you've found.
