Do you ever build custom composite wings?
Wanted to ask if you ever do custom composite wings..
I have an older Mueller (sp?) slip on nose, fuse, and I would like
to build it into a strong open class ship, but the foam cores and
bagged wings I have are RG15 airfoils, which, I guess, is a pretty
outdated airfoil.
I know you would need all the details on the fuse, but at this point
I wonder if you do this kind of thing,
Its a 9" root, I was figuring about 55" per panel, with
one of the newer F3B airfoils, and a triple taper wing plane
Let me know if you'd be interested in a project like this..

Bob, the RG15 is still a very respectable airfoil, although we have our own
airfoils we use on our projects. If you have a set of RG15 wings already
I'd recommend you go ahead and use them. You can always make another set of
wings later, at which point you'll have a backup, and a basis for
comparison you can use to evaluate your new design.
As far as making a one-off set of custom wings, yes we have that
capability, but I don't think the folks who've been patiently waiting for
Monarchs would take to kindly to our doing that. We make kits here, and all
the spare resources we have are already allocated to our other kit
development projects, one of which is a very innovative open class ship of
our own. However interesting your project might be, it just doesn't make
economic sense for us to build one of something when those same resources
could be used to develop something we get to sell in quantity. Sorry, but
it's one of those things where the rules of good business just don't give
us any choice! I'd suggest you check with some of your club members,
chances are there's someone in your circle of friends who can do these for
you. Good luck!
