Can you tell me what the weight is of your MPS-1A motor with prop?
From : Don Stackhouse
10 grams total, or .35 ounces. 2 grams of that is the prop (not counting
the adapter and retaining nut, I included those with the rest of the unit).
At full throttle on a 7-cell NiMH pack, it pulls about 1.0 to 1.2 amps,
which is about 8-12 watts. The quality of the batteries and the size of the
cells makes a huge difference, which is the reason for the spread in the
numbers.
I'm thinking of using this motor to power a walnut scale Beech Staggerwing (Dumas kit).
BTW, the Staggerwing would be a fine addition to your civilian RoadKill series (hint, hint).
I'm not sure how soon its turn will come up in the development schedule,
but the Staggerwing is definitely a prominent member of our "to do" list.
Right now we just got the Curtiss Wright Junior into production, we're very
close to having the B-17 and the Ryan ST in production, and we froze the
design of the Focke-Wulf FW-190A yesterday after some very successful
flight tests. We have several others that are coming along very well,
including a big 4 motor flying wing and a WW2 canard-pusher, both of which
now have their basic designs frozen. We have several other models in active
development, and a big list after those.
The biggest problem we're having with the RK models is deciding which one
to do next!
