What is the proper way to solder my MPS motors?

To properly do it, shouldn't take any pressure. Get a tiny drop of molten solder on the tip of the iron and just touch that simultaneously to the terminal and the wire. If everything is clean and tinned properly, the solder will flow naturally from the tip of the iron into the joint.
