I was wonderinng if the "Road Kill" Mustang is a good first/second airplane?

First airplane: ABSOLUTELY NOT !!!
Second airplane: maybe, IF you learned a lot from your first airplane, AND
you have a good instructor, one with experience with small electric models.
The first six Roadkill series models are not, and never were, intended to
be beginner's models. They are excellent sport models. We have some for
later additions to the series that might be good trainers, but I can't say
at this time how soon those might be available.
Among the current Roadkill models, the Mustang is actually one of the more
challenging to fly. The most difficult to fly is probably the Me109 (just
like the full-scale aircraft). The Zero and the Spitfire are the easiest.
The easiest to build is probably the Zero. The P-38 is also easy to fly,
with its greater reserve power from the second motor, and it's fairly easy
to build, other than having a lot more parts in comparison to the
single-motor models. However, although they are not hard to fly, NONE of
the Roadkill series are good first models.
If you can fly a .40-size trainer (or something equally challenging)
without having to think through each control input (in other words, you can
fly instinctively), and you can build light, accurate and strong structures
from thin balsa sheet, you should do fine with a Roadkill model.
