The following question came from Gary: "gmitano@earthlink.net" gmitano@earthlink.net )

Have you tried the P-38 with counter-rotating props? Would the torque neutralizing help with control?

From : Don Stackhouse

Not very feasible, unless we can find a prop that works as well with our MPS-1 as the ones we're presently using, and that is available in both left and right-handed versions. The other problem is that if we start offering counter-rotating props, we'll then have to deal with all the complaints from folks who get them hooked up backwards! We'd also have to deal with the very significant problem of stocking two different and otherwise identical props, and making sure we got the right ones in the right kits.

In theory, counter-rotating props would improve handling on some of the twins, like the P-38. However, in actual practice we haven't had a significant problem with running them both in the same direction on those models. If it's not broke, don't fix it!
