Is the Curtiss Jenny as docile as it looks?

Yes. It's a bit more "floaty" in its flying style than the Electra, pretty
much like you would expect a Jenny to fly. In contrast, the Electra is
rock-solid like it was on rails, like an airliner should be, until you
specifically tell it to do something.
The Jenny is also very durable, with a lot of mutual bracing effect from
the wings and all those struts, and the 1/64" plywood doublers on both
sides of the nose. Its handling reminds me of the GWS Tiger Moth, but its
roll response is better because of the ailerons. Stall warning on the Jenny
is also very good; the controls get sluggish when you fly too slowly but
are still comfortably above stall speed. If the ailerons don't seem to be
responding crisply, tuck the nose down a few degrees and open the throttle.
In general, it's a very well behaved airplane that will tell you what's on
its mind well before it actually does something.
