The following question came from Roger Blair " )

I just completed your J3 at 3.80 oz with 230 mAh pack, began static testing and am wondering if this prop unloads considerably in flight to get a better bite, as it appears that the initial ground roll acceleration is rather sluggish when turning 6k RPM on a full charge... Can't try to fly until weather clears...

From : Don Stackhouse

6K is a healthy RPM, so it appears that the electrical stuff is all performing as it should. "Sluggish" is a subjective term, so I really can't say too much one way or the other without more data, other than to recommend waiting to pass judgement on it until you get some flight tests completed. However, if you did install it with the writing facing aft, your prop is indeed backwards and could be expected to be "sluggish".

That's one of the pitfalls of info on the Internet, even in places like our "Ask Joe and Don" section. Things change, and data that applied to an older situation might not be applicable to newer ones. It's best to be cautious, and if in doubt to ask for verification, just as you did in this particular case!

Good luck with your Cub, and please stay in touch!
