The flying surfaces + fuselage need some treatment, in some way...paints? dope? filllers? decals? whatever?
Keeping in mind that the weight(s) of same must be minimal.

None of the Roadkill Series models including the Junior require any covering. We do not recommend trying to seal the wood with paint or filler, it would add too much weight, and in our experience it really isn't necessary. We don't recommend flying in the rain, but few folks want to do that anyway. In our experience, light moisture, such as flying when there is dew on the grass, normally doesn't cause a significant problem.
Coloring and/or painting is optional, and is only for decoration. The fuselages and vertical tails of the prototype Juniors were colored with permanent felt marker. The license numbers on the blue Junior were composed in Microsoft "Paint" as a .BMP file, printed out on plain paper, cut out and then attached to the model using 3-M 77 spray adhesive. You could also print them out on 8.5" x 11" label stock if you didn't want to mess with the 3-M 77.
We posted the .BMP file on our website in the "Downloads" section. Anyone with Microsoft Windows has a copy of "Paint", it comes as one of the standard accessories (that's precisely why we chose to use "Paint" for this purpose). Just download the file from our website, open it in "Paint" and click on "print".
BTW, the paint scheme on the blue Junior in the photos is scale. The full-scale Junior with those numbers and paint scheme used to belong to a friend of mine, and was based at a small country airport not far from here.
