What do you use for making the light weight transfers on the Road Kill series kits?
From : Don Stackhouse
I draw up the artwork using a combination of my CAD program and then
Microsoft Paint. The end result is a .BMP (bitmap) file. Yes, I know there
are more sophisticated artwork programs than "Paint", but everyone who uses
some version of Windows has a copy of Paint. We plan to have those .BMP
files for the different RK models posted for downloading on our website
sometime soon.
From Paint I print out the file on either 8.5" x 11" label stock, or on
plain white bond paper. If bond paper, I then fog the bac side of it with
3-M 77 spray adhesive, then cover the sticky side with a sheet of waxed
paper. Cut out the artwork, peel off the waxed paper, and put the stickers
in place on the model. Go over them with a covering iron to help the paper
form to the shape of the model and to "set" the adhesive. Label stock works
well, but this spray adhesive set with an iron really sticks well.
