The following question came from Todd Presley

Recommended servo size for the Wizard or Monarch CX?

Are the pico size (FMA s80) servos strong enough for the tail surfaces?

From : Don Stackhouse

Todd, thanks for the questions. The Wizard can use HS-60's for the flaperons. Some folks have tried the ultra-micro FMA S-80's on the flaperons, but personally I think the jury's still out on that, I'm not sure if they have the torque. If there is a problem, it should show up as either stripped gears or as very short battery life (stalling from lack of torque). One possibility I'd like to try if I can ever get enough S-80's in one place at the same time is to split the flaperons at the poly break, and use four S-80's in the wing. That way you could have tapered deflection for in-flight washout control, and crow for glide path and time control, just like a 2-meter or open class ship.

The 'CX' flaperons are a bit stiffer than the Wizard's, so you need something like a Futaba S-133 or a Hitec HS-80 on each flaperon.

The ultra-micro S-80's are fine for the ruddervators on either model.
