And why did we call them ROADKILL???? They are just plain flat! ;-)

Now available, a line of most popular fighters from World War II. Such models as the Brewster Buffalo, Polikarpov I-16, Donier DO-335, and... HEY, I'm just kidding... How about models such as the North American P-51D, Messerschmitt BF-109F, Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero, Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero, Supermarine Spitfire Mk 1, Chance Vought F4U Corsair, Curtiss P-40B Warhawk, Douglas C-47 Skytrain, Boeing B-17, and the Lockheed P-38 Lightning®.

These kits are a Profile / Stand-off scale design. What that means to you, the builder flyer, is a fast building, good looking kit that flies like a dream. An experienced builder should be able to complete the kit in one or two evenings. Each kit, comes complete with laser cut wood parts, push rod linkages, landing gear parts and most importantly, an electric motor (with capacitor) and propeller. The builder need only provide a radio, battery, BEC/ESC, glue and a little time to build.

We have estimated the flying speed of these docile machines around 10 - 15 mph at half throttle. Using a NIMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) battery pack, you should easily have 8 - 10 minute flying sessions. (Flying time with NICAD batteries are about 1/2 as long) Each landing gear is attached with a single screw, so they can be easily removed if your preference is to fly in a grassy area. With the landing gear attached, coupled with a steerable tail/nose wheel, these fighters are easily taxied around your favorite gymnasium.

*The Roadkill Series Zero A6M2 has about 2" more wingspan than the A6M5 Zero. That 2" of wing might seem insignificant at first glance, but for a given airspeed it reduces induced drag by approx. 20 percent! This makes it much happier at low speeds and dramatically tightens the turning radius, as well as helping it retain energy better. For example, the A6M2 is quite happy making zero-power landings, while the other WW II warbirds in the series prefer to have the throttle left open a little until after touchdown. It also cruises nicely on lower throttle settings, resulting in longer flying times without requiring a larger battery.

On the other hand, the A6M5 has a higher cruising speed and top speed and a higher wing loading, so it's probably a better choice for flying outdoors, especially in the wind. There are definitely valid places in the world for both versions.

This makes it a great choice for a first time "Roadkill" flyer who's flying skills are still "on the rise". It is not a beginner's airplane, but reasonably capable sport flyers can have LOTS of fun with it!
**The C-47 comes with parts to build either the Civilian version DC-3 or the Military version C-47.
***The B-17F needs three (3) servos. The kit also includes simulated guns and droppable bombs. The height in 3pt configuration is 9" to the top of the fin.

IMPORTANT BATTERY INFORMATION
We are receiving numerous E-mails related to problems flying our Roadkill kits. In every case it is an weight issue related to using a battery pack too large for the kit. We can't STRESS enough the proper sized battery pack should be used in all the Roadkill kits. Larger packs WILL yield undesirable flight characteristics. In all our Roadkill models we do not recommend battery packs any larger than the 120 or 230 mah NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries. The general rule is to use the 120mah packs for indoor flying and the 230mah pack for outdoor flying. Multi-motor models can more easily use the larger pack for either indoor or outdoor.
