Monarch 2M Comments

Mark Howard Wrote to RCSE about his brand new Monarch 2M. In fact, it was his first day of flying his Monarch 2M:
" Say, this is like flying a 60" HLG! ...
... great energy retention. Axial rolls are crisp - with full rudder. Inverted flight is incredible ...
... a hand catch on the first flight demonstrates the confidence this ship exudes. ...
...The last time I was this impressed on a "first day" was flying an f3b Eagle. I am seriously smitten by this airplane. It is the most fun of ANY sailplane I've ever flown. This one's going to be very hard to beat! "
[Complete Post]

Adam "Red" Weston Wrote these glowing words of praise for his brand new Monarch 2M in an e-mail to Joe Hahn:
"I finally figured out why they have a 1.5m limit on HLG, its because they knew someone would build the Monarch 2m and blow away all the competition!...
... Once on the standard class high start, the Monarch 2m really started showing her true colors. ...
... 10 degrees of full span flaps and let her go up the line. BEAUTIFUL! ...
... My only complaint, ... is how quickly it gets out of sight."
[Complete Post]

Doug Barry Wrote about the Monarch 2M on the slope in an e-mail message to DJ Aerotech:
"with an extra ounce of nose weight it really smokes along !!! ...
... In fact I was looking for the contrail from the jet !! I had expected the tail would show signs of flutter at these speeds, but NOT a sound was heard!! What a neat plane !! ...
[Complete Post]

Andrew MacDonald Wrote about the Monarch 2M in an e-mail message to RCSE :
"I finally got to see a 2M Monarch today and it was worth the wait. ...
... this little plane handled everything and floated around like the giant handlaunch it is and yet managed a very respectable penetration up wind. ...
...The only thing I didn't really like about it was the quickness at which it got so small!"
[Complete Post]

Doug Barry Wrote about the Monarch 2M in an e-mail message to DJ Aerotech :
"thank you for the wonderful 2M !! ...
... What a thrill!! Flew right off the building board ...
...Thermaling has turned out to be easy, with just a little extra camber she slows up and climbs out in weak thermals. ...
... I have to admit that I have not been this excited about a 2M EVER. "
[Complete Post]

Mike O'Reilly Wrote about the Monarch 2M in an e-mail message to DJ Aerotech :
"It flies beautifully!!! ...
... It rockets up on an FAI legal winch and floats around really well. ...
...I set fastest time for the triangular course in one heat and finished third overall, not a bad start for a small plane against 3 metre ships."
[Complete Post]

Mike O'Reilly Wrote about the Monarch 2M in an e-mail message to DJ Aerotech :
"the little sucker flies great....
... I went way down wind and just cruised back like it was my 2.9 metre RG15 F3B ship....
... Great fun to fly!"

[Complete Post]

Brad Hills Wrote about his new Monarch D-Lite to Joe Hahn :
"I had a few reservations about the increased wing thickness, and lighter weight. I thought launch height would suffer....
...I was wrong. Launch height is better that my previous 2 Monarchs....
...My flying buddy (Wasp and Monarch C) was very impressed. Nice product. "
[Complete Post]

Bill Swingle told this story on RCSE :
"the plane was a Monarch...
...This thing's responsive. Now we're talkin'. I proceded to get an education in real, honest to goodness floating. The plane proved to be a terrific teacher. It was like magic. I've never seen a sink rate so low and yet it moved. Wow...
...I was reluctant to give the tx back. That plane was like cheating. It gave me a completely different definition of lift. Thank you Mr. D and Mr. J for a wonderful experience. "
[Complete Post]

Pat McCleave wrote about his new Monarch D-Lite to RCSE :

...My hat's off to the guys at DJ Aerotech for a great little plane. "
[Complete Post]

Tom Hoopes wrote on RCSE:

... Thanks for a great HLG and the "ongoing improvements", they are much appreciated!"
[Complete Post]

Doug Barry wrote about his new Monarch D to RCSE :

"... best of all it definitely will climb out in lift."

...This is exactly why I bought this plane...
...the Monarch CX is a good choice for anyone with a little floater experience."
