My prior two D Lite's never seemed to settle down or to "carve" a turn. I admit that they threw higher then all my stuff before and I admit that they seemed to hang way better then all my stuff before, but they NEVER really seemed to go out on lift. The days of flights to the limits of vision and over 30 minutes died when I changed from my Monarch C to the D Lites. The days of working out from 5 feet died also! This new Monarch D does not have any of the problems that I was priorly having. It definitely carves turns, it definitely "talks" about the air it is in and best of all it definitely will climb out in lift. Had a fun flight this afternoon caught a bubble of tirbulance at about 20 feet (wind was 8-10 mph and very rocky) rode it down wind to a tree line and then up as the bubble was kicked off by the trees, ended up at my limit of sight! Obviously I love this plane to death. I "firmly" believe that my basic problem (before) was that I was getting the incidence angle set up -WRONG-. The new fuselage moldings fixes this just beautifully. There is only one place the wing and stab can be placed and that makes the incidence angle a non-issue. Thanks for that, it fixs a "problem" that I'll bet most of your customers don't even realize could be wrong! BTW on the Monarch D 2M what have you done to the hinges? They are almost as soft as butter, but do not displace vertically like the typical living skin hinge! This is GREAT ... the hinge line will be a curve all the time!! I'm very excited about this, plane should be done next week some time and I'll set up testing for performance data. Doug Barry Richmond VA
