Subj: 7oz. Chrysalis! Date: 97-11-12 03:06:11 EST From: Agent CD2 To: Djaerotec CC: djwerls@bright.net I just built a 7oz Chrysalis!!! No finish on fuse (one very, very light coat of varathane), Oracover light clear covering, bolt on wing, 1/32 fuse sides (like you suggested) 1/32 V-tail glassed with .8oz glass and I used white glue for wing. glassed root uses west systems and the glass tape provided. I used the new FMA tetra Rx, 80mah battery, and 2 S80 servos. I also used 1/32 sullivan cables as pushrods. It launches great and FLOATS!!! 1:40 dead air times. I think this is the lightest Chrysalis ever (??? is it???). It shows me all the secrets of the air I never knew!!! 2.45oz sq/ft wingloading.I also made the fuse smaller than the narrow fuse on the plans. I used a finger hole instead of peg to save weight. So far it seems to be just as strong as any other Chrysalis I have built. Get that 2m Chrysalis out so I can make a record weight on it too!!!! ( :-P ) Also, keep an eye out in the next few days for the electric chrysalis conversion instructions. I finished them but lost the disk due to heat and had to re-type them. Lightly, Eric Farmer P.S. I can't wait to slope this Chrysalis on my house!!!
